Cyber bullying is becoming an increasing problem. A recent study of 367 students was done where they asked if they have been cyber bullied and 63 said they had been. The shocking thing was that half of the victims stated they in turn bullied someone else. It seems that technology has become a big part of young people’s lives and the amount of time using these technologies is increasing in turn increasing the cyber bullying rate. Research shows that victims will experience depression, anxiety, loneliness, and self-esteem issues and also a decline of school activities and grades. This can soon turn into suicide and other serious problems. Cyber bullying needs to stop the evidence is in the stats and if not it will not only impact children but all of society as well. This will be reflected on, in the report as statistics and information to back up the study.

A case of cyber bullying happens every day in the world and is consuming the young people. If it isn’t at school then at home or anywhere there is a computer. Yet, a child bullying another should be punished and showed that it is wrong yet at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in New Jersey a child was not punished. This was because everything that had taken place over the internet was taken place outside school and school hours. The principle could nothing about it. The parents of the victim were furious that nothing could be done. Only because a child who bullied did so away from school wouldn’t be punished does seem wrong. The nation must do something to show that this is a growing issue and it is time for the law and government to step in. The report will show how that this example proves that the law must now do something to stop the bullying issue.
